Lamb Lake Bass Club
Lamb Lake Bassmasters, founded October 1, 1981, is an affiliated club of the State and National Federation of B.A.S.S. In part, the purpose of our club is to promote bass fishing as a major sport, to improve our individual skills through the fellowship of our members and the friendly exchange of expert bass catching ideas and techniques, to compete against and enjoy the camaraderie of other clubs at the local, state, and even the national level, while embracing the principles and purpose of the Bass Angler Sportsman Society, including the catch and release philosophy.
Lamb Lake Bassmasters meets monthly (1st Monday of each month, at 7:00 pm) to conduct our business meeting and to share ideas. Occasionally, we have guest speakers or other forms of fishing entertainment. We hold approximately ten club tournaments annually, half of which are on Lamb Lake while the others are decided upon by our tournament committee. Lakes we have fished in the past include Kentucky Lake, Rough River, Barron River, Lake St. Clair in Michigan, and Dale Hollow in Kentucky, while familiar lakes locally include Monroe Reservoir, Raccoon Lake, Lake Schafer, Freeman, Cataract, and others.
Lamb Lake Bassmasters has been generous with time and money in benefiting our community. Our lake shore is cleaned annually of trash and debris by volunteers from our club. Money is raised in support of Clothe-A-Child (over $6,700 was distributed 2013 Christmas). We personally shop for several needy families in Trafalgar at Christmas time, purchasing gifts, clothes, food, and even helping with their rent or mortgage when needed.
We end each year with an awards banquet held in November where awards are presented to club members for their achievements throughout the year. Awards include individual tournament champions, rookie of the year, big bass, (10 lbs, in 1994) and some "special" awards for fun.
How can you join Lamb Lake Bassmasters? First, find a club member and express you are interested in pursuing membership. He will invite you to a business meeting or to our next tournament where you can get an idea of what it is all about. Your $125 dues include your state membership. You are then entitled to all of what you have just read, plus B.A.S.S. Chapter benefits.
